On Friday July 23, 2010, Andrew McGoldrick of Prospect Fire Co. No.1 and Kimberly Foglio were married.  The members of the department wish them the best and many years of happiness.

 

 

RESCUE Responds to New Milford

2010-07-20 -

At 1429 hrs, the Rescue was requested to respond to 455 State Street in New Milford as a RIC Team for a working fire in a residential dwelling.  Captain Naylis and crew of four responded on the run.

 

Once the Rescue was on scene members went to work throwing ground ladders and venting windows and then stood-by.  The Rescue was back in the borough in just under 60 minutes.

Next Meeting

2009-05-03 -

The next meeting of the Mid-Bergen Mutual Aid Association will be held on Wednesday evening April 21, 2010 in Ridgefield Park.  The meeting will start at 7:30 p.m.  The meeting will take place at Truck Company # 1 on Euclid Avenue in Ridgefield Park.

Beatles review

The Bergenfield High School Renaissance Program is holding a benefit music program on Friday night April 16, 2010 at the Bergenfield High School to benefit the Bergenfield Fire Department.  The program will feature the critically acclaimed group Ticket2Ride, who will perform their musical tribute to the Beatles.  The program starts at 7:30 p.m. and the doors open at 7:00 p.m.  All of the previous programs sponsored by the Renaissance Program have sold out and this appears to be no different.  Anyone interested in attending is urged to contact Fire Chief Ned Kneisler as soon as possible to secure tickets to this memorable event.  Tickets are $10 each.

Radio Communications meeting

2010-06-06 - There will be a meeting on Sunday June 13 at the Closter Vol. Ambulance Corps building on Ruckman Road in Closter (next door to the Closter firehouse) on radio communications and specifically recent information obtaining concerning discussions about transitioning dispatch and radio communications from local and regional centers to the Bergen County center in Mahwah.

The meeting will start at 10:00 a.m.

NJ Fire and Emergency Services Institute dinner

2010-06-06 - The NJ Fire and Emergency Service Institute will be hosting its annual dinner this year on Monday evening June 14 at the Marriott Hotel on Lafayette Street in Trenton, NJ.  The cocktail hour starts at 6:00 p.m. and the dinner begins at 7:00 p.m.  This is an opportunity to meet and great state legislators.  It is also an excellent way to show your support for the Institute that is working on behalf of NJ's emergency responders in Trenton throughout the year. 

Anyone needing additional information is asked to contact Ron Stokes of New Milford FD.  Please consider sending a representative of your FD to the Institute dinner in Trenton.  This year's featured speaker will be Bill Webb, Executive Director of the Congressional Fire Services Institute in Washington, DC.

Beefsteak Dinner and Musical Review to be held

2010-04-09 - Alpine Tilden Tenakill Lodge # 77 will host a beefsteak dinner and musical review on Friday evening June 18, 2010 at the lodge on Tenafly Road in Tenafly.  The beefsteak dinner will be served by Nightingale Catering and their will be a live musical review following.  Tickets are only $35 per person and include the beefsteak dinner, beer and soda plus the musical review.  Seating is limited and this fund raising event is expected to sell out early so advanced ticket purchase is strongly recommended.  Tickets may be purchased from any ATT officer.  The beefsteak starts at 7:00 p.m. on Friday June 18.  This fund raiser will benefit the Teaneck Daniels Charity Foundation, which provides scholarships and educational support.

2010-03-08 - Several graduates of the recent Firefighter I Academy are at it again. They have enrolled in the next stage of their careers by taking the Firefighter II course. This will expand their knowledge base in incident command and other fire suppression activities. This is another example of the ever-continuing training and development that occurs at our organization. We wish them luck in this class.

Budd Lake Firefighters Train in Vacant House

2010-07-25 -

Sunday morning July 25 firefighters drilled in a house that is set to be torn down. Firefighters split into two teams one team drilled on breaching walls and forcing entry in to doors and garage doors. The other team climbed the ladder and worked on venting roofs, skylights and vent caps. The crews all had a good time and valued the training. The drill lasted till around 1:00 pm and after clean up lunch was served.

Budd Lake Rescues Women from Apartment fire

2010-07-24 - Early Saturday morning July 24th around 1:30am the Budd Lake Fire Department was dispatched to Eagle Rock Village for a fire alarm. Upon arrival of the police they had a smoke condition with a women still inside, officers tried to enter the apartment but were driven back by heavy smoke. Car 52 Asst. Chief Sheard arrived and quickly put his S.C.B.A. on and went into the smoke filled apartment and pulled the victim to safety just as engine 53 was arriving followed by Budd Lake EMS who quickly transported the victim to St. Barnabus Burn center. Engine 53 knocked down the fire with one inch and three quarter line and performed ventilation and overhaul. The Flanders fire and Netcong fire companies were also on scene to assist. The current condition of the female is knot known and the fire is under investigation by the Mt. Olive Police and Fire Marshal’s offices as well as the Morris County Prosecutors office

Cedar Grove Fire Department

Structure Fire

2010-04-27 - On 4/24/10 at 0119 hours the Cedar Grove Fire Department was dispatched to 4 Bortic Rd. on a report of a structure fire. The fire was discovered by an on duty police officer. Police reported a fire in the basement of a single family dwelling. The fire units had to force entry into the structure and found a fire located on the first floor. The fire was intense enough that it burned a hole in the floor and debris from the floor caught contents of the basement on fire. The fire was immediately extinguished. The owner of the home was not present. There were no injuries reported. The Division of Fire Safety and the Essex County Prosecutors Arson Task Force were notified to assist the Cedar Grove Police with the investigation.

Roof Fire

2010-04-25 -

On Thursday April 22nd at 1312hours the Cedar Grove Fire Department responded to the Pilgrim Diner for a “fire on the roof”. The fire was reported by Deputy Chief Zaccaria, who was driving northbound on Rt. 23 when he came upon the incident. Deputy Chief Zaccaria notified the Cedar Grove Police Department and evacuated the Pilgrim Diner. CGFD units arrived within minutes of the dispatch. Chief Bannon established command of the scene, ordered a search and had 2 hand lines into operation. The fire was mostly contained to the kitchen exhaust fan and was put out within minutes. The search of the building turned up negative. A special thanks to Caldwell Fire Department for standing by as the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT),and Montclair, North Caldwell, and Fairfield Fire Departments for providing coverage during the incident. All crews were cleared at approximately 14:45.

1st Due Structure fire

2010-04-13 - Hayfield Dept. 12 was disp. @ 12:14 for a reported barn fire on Coleman Rd..Vernon twp. was disp. as first alarm assignment to assist.Dept. 12's first units on scene rept. a approx. 30x40 out building fully involved.Chief 12 had 2nd alarm struck (Saegertown,Summit,and Vernon Central)responded. 16 Dept. 12 members responded,all units were in service @ 3:28.

MVA w/ Entrapment (3/30/10)

2010-03-30 - At 21:00 we were dispatched for a accident on north Norrisville and king Rd.12-3 and 12-8 responded with 15 personnel.On scene crews found 1 veh. on its side,off the road in a field with one person confined.Conneautville amb. and fire along with Conneaut Lake Medics were dispatched to assist.Dept. 12 and Dept. 8 members went to work stabilizing veh. and dept. 12 personnel flapped the roof to extricate driver.Patient was checked out by EMS  and declined injury.All units were in service @ 22:25.
